Shades Valley is 11 games into its season, but it hasn't met anyone harder than the team challenging it next. Both it and Austin have made it this far into the playoffs, but they square off this Friday at 7:00 PM to determine who is worthy to move on. Austin will want to keep Shades Valley's offense in check as it has had no trouble moving up and down the field in its last four games.
The match between Shades Valley and Pell City was close at the half, but it sure didn't end that way. Shades Valley had all the answers against Pell City last week, winning 34 - 7. With three TDs, senior Desmond Trotter was a significant factor in the success. Trotter should be a familiar name as he has been a major contributor for Shades Valley in the past eight games. Senior Braelon Shields was in the mix too, providing Shades Valley with two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Austin can now show off nine landslide victories after its most recent game. The final score between it and Carver last week was a 48 - 0 blowout in Austin's favor. The game was pretty much decided by the half: the score was 34 - 0 going into the third quarter.
Their wins bumped Shades Valley to 8-3 and Austin to 11-0. Both Shades Valley and Austin are bound to feel confident after their prior matchups, but one team's ego will take a hit. Check back on MaxPreps to find out which one when the teams meet up this week.
