This week's postseason action didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. The action included a dizzyingly high 112-point combined score from McClellan and Alma.
Can't Touch This
Pulaski Academy got a 57 - 20 win over Harrison last week, and a key reason for the win was senior Layne Hatcher. Hatcher threw for 426 yards and four touchdowns. In fact, our algorithms singled out Hatcher as one of the top players in the power rankings for the week.
No Stoppin 'Em
McClellan and Alma went up, up, and away last week as they combined for the highest point total (112) among all power ranked teams. McClellan was able to grind out a solid victory over Alma, winning 60 - 52. As a result, McClellan rose two spots in the power rankings.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Bentonville (5th in the power rankings) and Bryant (3rd). Both teams are entering with last-week wins under their belts. Only one team will win this week, so we'll see which team fails to repeat its success.
