Denison (7-2) and Sherman (5-4) are set to face off this Friday at 7:00 PM. Denison might be a bit distressed seeing as how its point totals have been consistently dropping over the past four games.
The MaxPreps national rankings speculated that Denison might be blown out last week, and the rankings were right on the money. It had a rough outing against Ryan last week, losing 56 - 16. The defeat came about despite a quality game from senior Ty Mcfail, who picked up 122 yards on the ground. Mcfail was also an imposing presence on the defensive end with 13 tackles.
Meanwhile, Sherman has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling four) after its most recent game. It breezed past Wichita Falls last week with a final score of 51 - 26. With four TDs, senior Nathan Omayebu was a significant factor in the success.
The last time they met, Denison got away with a 35 - 30 win over Sherman. The rematch might be a little tougher for Denison since the team will be on Sherman's home field this time. We'll soon find out whether that makes a difference or not.
