There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. Among the action were the efforts of Hewitt-Trussville's senior Paul Tyson, an offensive menace who scored five total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Hewitt-Trussville's 52 - 47 win over Oak Mountain last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Paul Tyson. Tyson threw for 361 yards and three touchdowns. That performance made Tyson one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Movin on Up
It was onward and upward for Hueytown this week as the team hoisted itself up 14 places in the power rankings -- the largest rise of the week -- after their most recent game. It narrowly escaped with a win as it sidled past Hillcrest 39 - 36. The outcome was a definite jolt of excitement for Hueytown after its previous game, where the margin was anything but close.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Clay-Chalkville (4th in the power rankings) and Pinson Valley (3rd). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
