The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Millikan (8-2) takes on Northview (7-3) in the first playoff game of the year. Millikan has flexed its offensive muscles in its last four matchups, so Northview has a real workout ahead of it.
Last week, Millikan took on Jordan. Millikan's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 33 points in the first half. That put it at a 33 - 8 advantage. The offense continued to do well in the second half, scoring 20 points. In the end, Millikan steamrollered its way to an easy 53 - 8 victory.
As for Northview, it has netted another blowout to add to its collection (now totaling five) after its most recent game. It took its game against Wilson last week by a confident 35 - 6 score. No one had a larger role in the success than senior Steven Comstock, who brought his A game into the contest. He threw for 283 yards and three touchdowns. Comstock also tagged on a 25-yard TD reception in the first quarter. This sound performance was nothing new for Comstock, who has been a rock for Northview in the past ten games. Senior Joseph Castillo jr was in the mix too, providing Northview with two touchdowns.
There could be some fireworks in this game: Northview has finished with big points in its past five games; likewise, Millikan has had high scores in its last four.
