Kevin Sutton, who built
Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.) into a national boys basketball powerhouse, is looking for a new coaching job.
"I'm not at liberty right now to talk about it," Sutton told MaxPreps Saturday afternoon while attending the Final Four in Houston, Texas. "Right now it's in the hands of my lawyers and their lawyers. It was a mutual parting of the ways."
Concerning his future, he said, "I'm entertaining different offers and weighing my options."
Sutton sent 46 players into college basketball during his eight years at Montverde. Several of his teams and players were nationally ranked. He also was the school's athletic director.
Last summer he was assistant coach of the USA Under-17 team which won the gold medal during the World Championships in Hamburg, Germany. He will be the head coach for the USA team which will compete in the Nike Hoop Summit April 9 in Portland, Ore.
His team went 22-4 in 2010-11.
