Mt. View took the game and then some with a 55-14 win on Friday over Sheldon Clark. Mt. View were heavily favored coming into this game, and the results showcase why.
Mt. View's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 42 points in the first half. Sheldon Clark came up with 6 to make it 42-6 heading into the break. The Mt. View defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the contest.
Mt. View's success was spearheaded by the efforts of junior Marqus Ray, who caught passes for 164 yards and 4 touchdowns, and sophomore Jesse Rose, who passed for 213 yards and 5 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse sophomore Cody England, who racked up 9 tackles. The victory bumped Mt. View's record up to 3-0. The loss dropped Sheldon Clark's record to 1-3.
Next week Mt. View take on Summers County at 7:30 PM. As for Sheldon Clark, they will face off against East Ridge.
