Vista Ridge had a rough outing against Windsor last Friday, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Vista Ridge were able to grind out a solid win over Bear Creek on Friday, winning 20-12. The success represented a nice turnaround for Vista Ridge, who in their last game suffered a tough 0-21 defeat.
Vista Ridge got off to a sluggish start, posting 0 total points in the first half. That left them at a 0-12 disadvantage. The Vista Ridge offense took control in the second half, however, scoring 20 points.
No one put up better numbers for Vista Ridge than senior Payton Kaiser, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 177 yards and 2 touchdowns. On the defensive end, they got some fancy footwork from senior Deonte Washington, who dodged the offensive line for 3 sacks. The win got them back to even at 1-1. Bear Creek are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3.
Vista Ridge will stay at home next week against Dakota Ridge at 7:00 PM. As for Bear Creek, they will face off against Rampart.
