Their game last Friday wasn't at all kind to Lathrop, but their most recent match may have softened the blow. They blew past Johansen 48-19. Lathrop were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Lathrop got off to a sluggish start, posting zero total points in the first half. Johansen couldn't get anything started offensively, either, which meant the halftime score sat untouched at 0-0. The offense for Lathrop put that tie to bed by coming up with 48 points in the second half to win the game.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Next week Lathrop take on Los Banos at 7:00 PM. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both of those teams put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they meet up. As for Johansen, they will face off against Davis. Davis have averaged 36.5 points over the course of their past three games, so Johansen might be in for a challenge.
