2A-2 Region I District 3 recap September 24, 2013
Stanton moved up to 489 from 590 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-2 Region I District 3. The Buffaloes were able to move up by besting McCamey 42-20.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Crane beat Pecos 28-13,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Cranes.
Evan Moore and Abel Silvas gave Alpine a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Moore threw for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Silvas ran for 163 yards. Moore also contributed to the rushing game with 49 yards on the ground.

Moore put up the best numbers through the air as Alpine defeated Anthony. Moore's favorite target this week was Jonathan Frost, who caught 3 passes for 48 yards.
Austin Bird was the best wideout in the league this week as Stanton bested the Badgers. Bird racked up 8 receptions for 96 yards. Drew Snellgrove helped Stanton's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 29 yards.
Silvas was the best running back in 2A-2 Region I District 3 this week.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, John Peterson's team's K.J. Glaspie and Bird have proven to be a lethal combination. Glaspie has thrown for 612 yards this season, while Bird, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 18 catches for 296 yards. Sid Anderson from Sonora leads the league in rushing with 488 yards.
Stacey Martin's team took down the Wildcats 60-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Moore during the win.
