This week's postseason action didn't throw the rankings into complete disarray, but it did reorder the standings a decent amount. Among the action were the efforts of Woodinville's senior Jaden Sheffey, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
Can't Touch This
Archbishop Murphy's 47 - 7 win over River Ridge last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Ray Pimentel. Pimentel rushed for 276 yards and four touchdowns. That performance landed Pimentel among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Monroe (7th in the power rankings) and Puyallup (11th). Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Monroe beat Puyallup 21 - 14. Monroe saw its record improve to 10-1 and its power rank jump five places as a result.
No Stoppin 'Em
After a comfortable win over Everett in the match before, Garfield might have felt a bit of anxiety in its most recent match. Garfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Lincoln, sneaking past 44 - 41. Garfield found its leader in an underclassman: Javon Tade threw for 457 yards and five touchdowns, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. The combined 85 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between Graham-Kapowsin (6th in the power rankings) and Woodinville (2nd). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
