This Friday at 7:30 PM, Pearsall (8-0) faces Devine (3-5). Pearsall might be a bit distressed seeing as how its point totals have been consistently dropping over the past three games.
Pearsall kept its home record unblemished after another positive outing on its own turf. It battled it out with Crystal City last week for a well-earned 21 - 18 overtime win. Pearsall and Crystal City were a much more even match than Pearsall's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
As for Devine, it has taken eight games to get there, but it has finally bested an opponent on the road. Even if it wasn't a dominant performance, it beat Poteet 13 - 6 last week. Junior Grant Collins was a big part of the win as his strong performance led the charge (he picked up 133 yards on the ground). This marked the 6th consecutive game in which Collins had 100+ rushing yards.
The last time they met, Devine won 42 - 28. Will Pearsall avenge its loss? We'll find out soon enough.
