1. SEFFNER ARMWOOD (2-0)
This is how good Armwood is: Despite losing three fumbles and having three holding penalties stall drives inside of the 20-yard line, the Hawks STILL rolled up 494 yards of offense in a 52-10 thumping of a good Tampa Wharton team. Quarterback Mywan Jackson threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 84 yards and another score.

2. TAMPA PLANT (1-1)
Last Friday’s 49-7 win against Tampa Gaither was more like it for Plant quarterback Aaron Murray. The University of Georgia commit passed for 272 yards and four touchdowns. Three of them went to Allen Sampson, who transferred this year to Plant from – Gaither.
Up next: Tampa Middleton (1-1)
3. TAMPA CHAMBERLAIN (2-0)
Speaking of Middleton, Chamberlain was impressive last week in turning back a good Middleton team 35-14. Running back Kenny Allen and quarterback Dontae Aycock combined to run for 227 yards and three scores in the win. The Chiefs’ defense also was solid, giving up just two scores while also producing a touchdown off a turnover.
Up next: at Tampa Hillsborough (2-0)
4. LARGO (2-0)
The lead dog in Pinellas County, the Packers posted their 15th straight home win last week with a 37-0 romp against Palm Harbor University. Quarterback Ryan Eppes threw two touchdown passes and running back Marcel Durham ran for two scores as the Packers posted 360 yards of offense. And the Largo defense was its usual dominant self, pitching its second straight shutout.
Up next: off this week, at St. Petersburg (1-1) Sept. 26
5. TAMPA HILLSBOROUGH (2-0)
The Hillsborough offense is beginning to click. The Terriers’ talented tandem of quarterback Tarean Austin and speedy tailback Lindsey Lamar posted big numbers in a 41-14 win against Tampa Alonso, a former member of the MaxPreps Tampa Bay Top 10. Austin had 317 yards passing and three scores while Lamar ran for 110 yards and a score and also had a touchdown reception.
Up next: Hosting No. 3 Tampa Chamberlain (2-0)
6. TAMPA BAY TECH (2-0)
Is Class 4A, District 11 pretty good or what? It includes Armwood, Hillsborough, Tampa Bay Tech and Middleton. Two of these outstanding teams won’t make the postseason. If Tech keeps beating teams into submission (a 41-6 win against Leto last week and a 61-6 opening win against Valrico Bloomingdale), they won’t be one of them.
Up next: at Tampa Sickles (0-2)
7. DUNEDIN (2-0)
Perhaps trying to keep pace with their neighborhood rival No. 4 Largo, the Falcons laid a 38-0 dismantling on Seminole. Quarterback Ryan Singer threw touchdown passes of 39, 80 and 65 yards in the blowout. Running back Adaris Bellamy caught one of those touchdown passes but still hasn’t had a breakout game – yet.
Up next: Seminole Osceola (0-2)
8. GIBSONTON EAST BAY (2-0)
The Indians are now on a six-game winning stretching back to last season after a hard-fought 17-3 against Plant City Durant. Running back Chaz Burrows ran for 82 yards, bringing his two-game total to 340 so far this season. The start marks East Bay’s first 2-0 record after two weeks since the 2002 season.
Up next: at Wharton (0-2)
9. DADE CITY PASCO (2-0)
Pasco fought off a pesky Sebring team to take a 34-20 win. Pirates’ tailback Jamall Haynes ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns to help lift Pasco on the poll for the first time this season. Here’s another way to measure the improved Pirates’ progress: last year, they lost to Sebring 21-7.
Up next: at Wesley Chapel (1-1)
10. CLEARWATER COUNTRYSIDE (2-0)
The Cougars played solid defense in their 21-14 win against St. Petersburg Gibbs. But its’ offense proved the difference as quarterback Jimbo Chmelik threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Richard Shockley in the waning minutes of the game. Now the Cougars have to see if they can keep it up.
