Wren and Pickens take on one another this Friday at 7:30 PM on Wren's home turf. Neither team wants a repeat from last game, where each was handed a considerable defeat.
The result of Wren's previous contest was disheartening but, based on state rankings, not too surprising. It suffered a painful 46 - 14 defeat to Greenville last week. Things were already looking bleak at the break as Wren was down 32 - 0.
As for Pickens, it wasn't able to scrape together any points last week, falling to Belton-Honea Path 31 - 0. However, senior Bryson Capps didn't go down without a fight as he showed off his agility by splitting the defense to the tune of 116 yards.
After their losses, Pickens dropped to 1-6 and Wren dropped to 5-2. Both Wren and Pickens have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball (the former allowing an average of 28 points per game, the latter an average of 29 points per game). We'll find out which offense can take advantage of this fact when the two teams meet this week.
