Junior Dometreus Pruitt, who rushed for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in Honey Grove's success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Kenny Campbell, who racked up 9 tackles.
The defeat dropped Whitewright's record to 0-2. The win got Honey Grove back to even at 1-1.
Whitewright will stay at home next week against Como-Pickton at 7:30 PM. As for Honey Grove, they will face off against Alba-Golden.
