3A Region III District 21 recap September 24, 2013
Orangefield was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to first in 3A Region III District 21. The Bobcats beat Kelly Catholic 19-14 earlier in the week.
Bridge City made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,003 from 5,121.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Cardinals' Chase Shugart and Malcolm Busby have proven to be a lethal combination. Shugart has thrown for 340 yards this season, while Busby, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 7 catches for 166 yards. Chris James from West Orange-Stark leads the league in rushing with 288 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Silsbee takes on Orangefield. The Tigers are in fifth place, while the Bobcats are in first place.
Buna led 3A Region III District 21 in scoring this week after putting up 28 points on Hemphill.
