3A Conference 32 recap November 5, 2013
Cave Spring made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,315 from 4,588. The improvement was largely due to a 27-24 victory over Blacksburg last week.
Abingdon led 3A Conference 32 in scoring this week after putting up 43 points on Tazewell.
Hidden Valley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Titans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jake Smiley has thrown for 727 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Dean Sayers has 13 catches for 375 yards.
Walker Brand of the Hidden Valley is only 62 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 134 carries Brand has put up 938 yards this year.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Christiansburg takes on the Bruins. The Blue Demons are in first place, while Blacksburg is in fourth place.
