Henrietta and Nocona meet up on Friday this week after opposite experiences in their previous matchups. Henrietta has to be hurting after a devastating 34 - 10 defeat at the hands of Holliday last game. As for Nocona, it had all the answers against City View last week, winning 61 - 29.
Henrietta's game was close at the break (10 - 7), but Holliday took charge in the second half. Henrietta unfortunately couldn't repeat the imposing 34-point effort it came up with in its previous game. The defeat dropped its record to 5-3.
Meanwhile, after having lost a blowout to Jacksboro in its previous game, Nocona was happy to get the victory over City View. Nocona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but sophomore Francisco Garcia led the charge as he earned two touchdowns and 156 yards rushing the ball. Senior Riley McCasland banked an additional two TDs for the team. This sound performance was nothing new for McCasland, who has been a rock for Nocona in the past five games. Nocona remains undefeated at home and rose to 6-2.
We'll see if Nocona can add another positive mark to its record or if Henrietta can shake its defeat and take the spring out of Nocona's step.
