Everything went Eagle Point's way against Springfield on Friday as the team secured a 48-7 win. That result was just more of the same for Eagle Point, who also won the last time these teams played.
Eagle Point started the matchup off right with 41 first-half points. Meanwhile, Springfield couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 41-0 heading into the break. The Eagle Point defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the match.
Senior Cameron Morgan, who passed for 396 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Eagle Point's success. Near the top of the highlight reel was Morgan's 68-yard TD bomb to Eric Parliament in the second quarter. Senior Noah Page was in the mix, too, providing Eagle Point with 2 touchdowns. The victory bumped their record up to 3-0. The loss dropped Springfield's record to 2-1.
Next week Eagle Point take on South Eugene at 7:00 PM. South Eugene will need to watch out since Eagle Point have now posted big point totals in their last three contests. Springfield will be staying on the road, facing off against Willamette.
