It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 28-69, which was the final score in Charles City's tilt against West Delaware on Friday. The state rankings had actually given Charles City a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
The loss dropped Charles City back to even at 4-4. The win bumped West Delaware's record up to 3-5.
Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Charles City will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Waverly-Shell Rock. Charles City stagger into the contest hobbled by three consecutive losses while Waverly-Shell Rock skip in buoyed by three consecutive wins. West Delaware will stay at home against Waterloo East at 7:00 PM. Waterloo East are limping into the game on a nine-game losing streak.
