Spring Mountain (8-2) is 11 games into its season, but it hasn't met anyone harder than the team challenging it next. It and Virginia City (10-0) face off this Friday at 1:00 PM to determine whose season will come to a close. Spring Mountain is coming into the game hot, having won three in a row.
Last week, Spring Mountain took on Beatty. Spring Mountain's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 46 points in the first half. That put it at a 46 - 6 advantage. The defense contributed as well, holding Beatty to zero points in the second half. In the end, Spring Mountain steamrollered its way to an easy 60 - 6 victory.
Meanwhile, Virginia City can now show off ten landslide victories after its most recent game. Everything went its way against Wells last week as it secured a 50 - 6 win. Junior Wyatt Pieretti continued his outstanding stretch of play as he rushed for 204 yards in the victory, marking his 5th consecutive game with over 100 yards rushing. Pieretti has also now scored at least one touchdown in the past five consecutive games. Senior Tanner Uken was in the mix too, providing Virginia City with two touchdowns.
With big points in their last games, don't be surprised if the score for this one stands out.
