Georgia is on my mind, but out of my sight. We said our goodbyes to the great people of Valdosta, ate the last time with Nubs and headed north on the 75. Our parking lot of choice tonight is a BP gas station in Loudon, TN. I parked here because it is 2:50 in the morning, and also because there is a dairy farm two miles up the road. I will milk a cow for you out there in Maxpreps land, so stay tuned for the Maxpreps versus Prospects cow milking video.
Last nights game was another close one with Valdosta losing to Lowndes 23-19. Yesterday Mike gave you an overview of the game, so I wanted to touch on one particular set of plays at the end of the first half.
There was a little over one minute left in the half, and the craziness began. Valdosta gets stopped on a fourth down try, so Lowndes gets the ball. Lowndes then throws an interception giving the ball back to the Wildcats, who at the time were down 14-6. Trying to score before half, Valdosta's quarterback tries to make something happen, and he does, for Lowndes, with an interception. Now all Lowndes is trying to do is run the time down, so they hand the ball off, but a hard hit causes a fumble and Valdosta gets control of the ball back. Valdosta then tries some trickery by throwing a little screen pass to the wide receiver, who then tries to throw it downfield. You know what happens now? An interception of course, but at the end of the interception another fumble occurs. Lowndes keeps possession and ran down the clock.
I wanted to share this with you because I wanted to write about something. All we did was drive today, and sit at Dave and Buster's to watch Travis Moore make a killer start at QB for University of Nevada against San Jose State. That is my boy Travis! Also, this is a perfect time of the game in order to give you a little feel of how wild this game was.
We will be driving through the rest of Tennessee tomorrow on our way to Ohio. This week's game is between two teams that have been playing against each other since 1894. The Canton McKinley versus Massillon Washington game is the Michigan versus Ohio State of high school football. It should be a good one, but before I go I want to know of any other great plays that went on this weekend, or just about some great rivalries around the nation.
