By now, everybody knows California's first true state title games will take place Dec. 16 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, crowning champions in three divisions.

MaxPreps has published ratings and projected matchups throughout the last month, but in the end, the state's 10 section commissioners will decide who participates in the historic California State Championship Bowl Games Dec. 10.

Here is a breakdown of how the selection process will play out;

Enrollment/Divisional Breakdown
ÿ
Division I: In the North, schools with an enrollment of 1,751 or more will fall into Division I consideration. In the South, the same goes for any school with an enrollment of 2,401 or more.
ÿ
Division II: North schools with an enrollment of 1,001 to 1,750; South schools with an enrollment of 1,101 to 2,400.
ÿ
Division III: North schools with an enrollment of 11 to 1,000; South schools with an enrollment of 11-1,100.
ÿ
- Schools will not be allowed to "opt-up" by playing in a Division above their enrollment.
- Enrollment figures for all-boys schools will be doubled.
- Schools from the Central Coast, North Coast, Northern, Oakland, San Francisco, and Sac-Joaquin Sections are considered North, while Central, Los Angeles, Southern, and San Diego Sections make up the South.
ÿBowl Game Championship Prerequisites

- Teams must win respective Section championship to be eligible for inclusion.
- Teams will be placed in either Division I, II, or III based on enrollment, not the division individual teams participated in within their respective sections.
- Teams selected must agree to participate.
