If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Grand Junction Central. They will challenge Palmer on the road at Gerry Berry Stadium at 7:00 PM on Friday. Grand Junction Central don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Grand Junction Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Vista Ridge, sneaking past 16-13. Junior Max Marsh, who accumulated 163 passing yards and picked up 48 yards on the ground, was a major factor in Grand Junction Central's success. Marsh has been a consistent playmaker for Grand Junction Central as this was the 6th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Palmer, and their matchup last Friday only extended their streak of losses to four. They were given a punishing 6-68 loss at the hands of Mesa Ridge. Palmer were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 6-48.
Grand Junction Central's win lifted them to 4-2 while Palmer's defeat dropped them down to 1-5. We'll find out if Grand Junction Central can add another positive mark to their record or if Palmer can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Grand Junction Central's step.
