4A/3A Conference 3 recap October 29, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A/3A Conference 3 this week, Mooresville beat West Iredell 56-0. This was the team's seventh consecutive win.
The Warriors made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,961 from 12,254. The advance stemmed from a 56-0 victory over West Iredell last week.
Lake Norman's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Josh Ladowski threw for 261 and 3 touchdowns and Corey Joyner had 188 yards receiving. On the ground Ladowski chipped in 220 yards. Luke Miller helped Lake Norman's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 46 yards.
Ladowski was a force in the backfield as the Wildcats topped North Lincoln.
Ladowski was the best running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 220 yards as Lake Norman bested the Knights.
Lake Norman's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Wildcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ladowski has thrown for 2,505 yards and 24 touchdowns this season, while Joyner has 67 catches for 1,377 yards. Ladowski also leads the league in rushing with 1,635 yards.
The top two teams in 4A/3A Conference 3 will face off this week when first place South Iredell takes on second place Mooresville. South Iredell defeated Alexander Central last week, while Mooresville bested Mike Natoli's team.
Entering into this week's contest against North Lincoln, TRAVIS RAMSEUR is short just 87 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season. So far this year, RAMSEUR has thrown for 1,913 yards with 18 touchdowns and 7 interceptions.
The Cougars' Devante Clark needs only 70 yards against the Warriors next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 148 carries Clark has accumulated 930 yard this year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Hal Capps' team takes on the Vikings. The Blue Devils have allowed 188 points this season, while South Iredell has given up 112. Mooresville allowed 0 points last week as it defeated West Iredell.
