etched her name in the Indiana state record book Wednesday night.
The senior's first-inning single broke state hit streak mark, giving her 44 consecutive games with a hit. The last time Slone failed to collect a hit was in her sophomore year.

Slone also went 3-for-3 and belted a home run to lead the Quakers to a 3-0 victory over Franklin Community (Ind.).
The Miami University commit was overjoyed.
"I felt so excited," said an overjoyed Slone, a Miami (Ohio) University commit. "The support I had from so many people leading up to it has been great. It meant a lot to be able to accomplish this feat at home as well."
Slone has put up video game-type numbers this season with a .735 batting average and 10 homers for the 11-7 Quakers.
