Artesia took their matchup against Vasquez on Friday by a conclusive 52-27 score. Followers of Artesia probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.
Artesia started the contest off right with 42 first-half points. Vasquez came up with 14 to make it 42-14 heading into the break. Artesia were outperformed in the second half 10-13 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win. The win bumped their record up to 3-1. The loss dropped Vasquez's record to 1-4.
Next week Artesia take on El Dorado at 7:00 PM. Artesia have bulldozed their previous three opponents, so El Dorado might have their hands full. Vasquez will look to defend their home turf against The Webb Schools at 7:00 PM. The team will be hoping to continue their now three-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
