The Reagan Rattlers saw their season come to an early end when they fell to O'Connor in the Texas 5A state playoffs. Reagan had been ranked No. 2 in the Xcellent 25, but when O'Connor lost in the region finals to Westlake, Reagan had to drop out of this week's Xcellent 25 national rankings.
Reagan's departure allowed Ursuline Academy of Cincinnati to move up to No. 2. It defeated Coffman of Dublin for the Division I state championship in Ohio. Coffman subsequently tumbled to No. 25 after rising as high as No. 6 last week.
The only other team to drop out this week is Jesuit of Portland, Ore., which fell to Central Catholic of Portland in the Oregon 6A state finals. Central Catholic replaces Jesuit in the Xcellent 25 rankings, making its return after a three-week absence. The Rams had appeared in the rankings last month, but dropped out after a loss to Jesuit. The Rams' only loss this year was to the Crusaders.
