With the playoffs underway, it shouldn't be a shocker to learn that this has been a helter-skelter week in the power rankings. Among the action were the efforts of Woodinville's senior Jaden Sheffey, an offensive menace who scored six total TDs.
After a comfortable win over Everett in the match before, Garfield might have felt a bit of anxiety in its most recent match. Garfield had just enough, edging out Lincoln 44 - 41. Garfield found its leader in an underclassman: Javon Tade threw for 457 yards and five touchdowns, which was enough to make him one of the team's best players. The win also thrust Garfield into the power rankings, where the team now holds the 22nd spot.
Can't Touch This
Archbishop Murphy's 47 - 7 win over River Ridge last week had a lot to do with the leadership of senior Ray Pimentel. Pimentel rushed for 276 yards and four touchdowns. That performance landed Pimentel among the top power-ranked players for the week.
This Week's Big Showdown
One of the hottest tickets last week involved the clash between Central Valley (5th in the power rankings) and Camas (10th). Central Valley got a somewhat close 22 - 15 victory over Camas. Central Valley saw its record improve to 9-1 and its power rank jump four places as a result.
Next Week's Big Game
The big showdown in the power rankings this week is between Gonzaga Prep (7th in the power rankings) and Richland (2nd). Both teams are coming in hot off of wins in their previous games. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both Richland and Gonzaga Prep put up some lofty point totals in their previous games, so things might heat up even more when they play one another this week.
