If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Lincoln. On Friday they take on Rickards at Gene Cox Stadium at 7:00 PM. Lincoln will be looking to avenge the 21-28 loss they took the last time these two teams played.
Lincoln might have drawn first blood against Lowndes last week, but it was Lowndes who got the last laugh. Lincoln were completely outmatched, falling 15-51 to Lowndes. This game was a close 7-8 at the break, but unfortunately for Lincoln it sure didn't stay that way.
Meanwhile, Rickards have had to suffer through a 3-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 55-32 margin over Gadsden County. The success represented a nice turnaround for Rickards, who in their last game suffered a tough 7-28 defeat.
Rickards's win lifted them to 1-3 while Lincoln's loss dropped them down to 2-2. We'll see if Rickards' success rolls on or if Lincoln are able to steal their positive momentum.
