There wasn't a ton of movement in the power rankings this week, but there was certainly enough to keep things interesting. The action included a dizzyingly high 103-point combined score from Killingly and Waterford.
Can't Touch This
Ansonia got a 38 - 0 win over Derby last week, and a key reason for the win was junior Shykeem Harmon. Harmon earned four touchdowns and 253 yards rushing the ball. That performance made Harmon one of the best players in the power rankings last week.
Can't Stop Won't Stop
Naugatuck has been an offensive powerhouse for seven straight weeks after the team lit up the scoreboard again last week. Everything went its way against Kennedy as it secured a 56 - 0 win. Naugatuck's margin of victory (56 points) marked the biggest win the team has had all season. With seven consecutive wins, Naugatuck boasts the longest winning streak of any team in the rankings.
No Stoppin 'Em
Killingly was the big favorite in its game against Waterford last week, and for good reason. Killingly picked up a decisive 'W' against Waterford, finishing up at 76 - 27. One of the main ringleaders for Killingly was junior Jackson Lopes, who rushed for 76 yards and three touchdowns. The combined 103 points was the most of any game featuring a power-ranked team.
Next Week's Big Game
If you are itching to watch a first-rate contest, no game is supposed to fit the bill better than the one between East Hartford (6th in the power rankings) and Southington (5th). Both teams have their heads held high after dominating their previous opponents. Given their high-scoring efforts against their previous opponents, we'll see how far they can run the score up this week.
