Rice Consolidated went up against Edna last week. Rice Consolidated's defense took a beating in the first half, giving up 28 points. That put it down 28 - 19. The offense wasn't without blame, either, as it totaled zero points in the second half. The net result was a 28 - 19 defeat.
As for Yoakum, it can now show off six landslide victories after its most recent game. It put the hurt on Industrial last week with a conclusive 49 - 13 victory. Junior Mayson Arkadie was especially active in the win, finding the end zone an impressive three times. Arkadie's longest score was a 42-yard scramble in the first quarter.
The two teams picked up some nice yardage in their most recent games (404 for Rice Consolidated and 433 for Yoakum), so expect some excitement on the offensive end of the ball.
