4A Region III District 22 recap October 22, 2013
Fort Bend Willowridge moved up to 851 from 878 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region III District 22. The Eagles were able to move up by falling to Ridge Point 49-0.
The Panthers extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Fort Bend Willowridge, 49-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Robbie Gillen was a passing and rushing force as Tomball bested Spring Woods. He completed 7 passes for 135 yards and also ran for 83 yards. Gillen's favorite target this week was Jerome Ramirez, who caught 2 passes for 64 yards.
Jesse Crebbe and Reggie Taylor gave Brett Sniffin's team a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Crebbe threw for 51 yards and 1 touchdown, while Taylor ran for 115 yards. Teammate Je'Marcus Johnson added to the ground attack by rushing for 93 yards.
The Panthers' Troy Alexander and Jax Bigger led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Alexander has thrown for 465 yards this season, while Bigger has 13 catches for 267 yards. The Cougars' Weston Shattuck leads the league in rushing yards with 652.
A big matchup in 4A Region III District 22 this week will be when Ridge Point takes on Tomball. The Panthers are currently in first, while Danny Ramsey's team is in fourth.
Stratford took down Northbrook 56-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
