The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. This Friday Potosi (3-6) takes on Ste. Genevieve (5-4) in the first playoff game of the year. Ste. Genevieve is cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Potosi is stumbling off of four losses in a row.
Potosi was close but not close enough last game as it fell 13 - 10 to DeSoto/Kingston. Potosi and DeSoto/Kingston were a much more even match than Potosi's previous opponent, giving the fans a heck of a game.
Meanwhile, Ste. Genevieve claimed a 21 - 7 victory over Brentwood last week. No one had a larger role in the success than senior Camden Roe, who brought his A game into the contest. He ran for 145 yards and also punched in one touchdown.
The last time they met, Ste. Genevieve hopped past Potosi 33 - 13. Potosi couldn't get the same offensive movement going as Ste. Genevieve (256 yards compared to 148 yards), so it will surely be hoping to change that this time around. Can Potosi avoid another defeat? We'll see on Friday.
