Don't blame Christian Parsons for Cypress Lake (Fla.) High School's 49-48 loss to Barron Collier Friday night.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pound junior quarterback threw for a Florida state record 583 yards.
"Christian Parsons has to be the best quarterback I've ever seen," Collier head coach Mark Ivey told The News-Press of Fort Myers.
Parsons connected on 27 of 42 attempts, finding receivers in the end zone six times and adding a two-point conversion through the air.
According to The News-Press, the Sunshine State's previous passing yardage record belonged to Matt Johnson of Fort Lauderdale, who threw for 534 yards in 2004.
Parsons has thrown for 2,037 yards this fall.
