Scranton (5-2) and Delaware Valley (7-0) are set to face off this Friday at 7:00 PM. Scranton might be a bit distressed seeing as how its point totals have been consistently dropping over the past three games.
Scranton is still above.500 but has been slipping the past two games. It has to be hurting after a devastating 34 - 8 defeat at the hands of Hazleton last game. Scranton unfortunately couldn't repeat the imposing 34-point effort it came up with in its previous game.
As for Delaware Valley, the state rankings suggested a blowout in its previous game, and that is exactly what happened. The final score between it and Williamsport last week was a 55 - 17 blowout in Delaware Valley's favor. With five TDs, senior Ryan Obiso was a significant factor in the success. Obiso's longest score was a 50-yard scramble in the third quarter. Senior Dylan Kelly was an active contributor as well and provided 124 receiving yards.
The last time they met, Delaware Valley was the decided 35 - 0 victor. This defeat knocked Scranton out of the playoffs, so expect it to come at Delaware Valley with a vengeful fire.
