If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Hart. They will square off against Golden Valley at 7:00 PM on Friday. Both teams worked hard to overcome the odds in their previous battles and are not about to give an easy one away.
Hart secured a 31-26 W over West Ranch. Junior Zach Johnson was the offensive standout of the match for Hart, as he accumulated 259 passing yards and picked up 59 yards on the ground. Johnson has now scored at least one touchdown in the past eight games.
Meanwhile, after constant struggles on the road, Golden Valley have finally found some success away from home. They squeaked by Canyon by less than a field goal, winning 35-33. The Golden Valley offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.
Their wins bumped Golden Valley to 2-7 and Hart to 5-4. In Golden Valley's victory, junior Christopher Alcantar rushed for 182 yards and 1 touchdown and junior Johnathan Kaelin rushed for 58 yards and 2 touchdowns. We'll see if Hart have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
