Bishop Dunne (4-4) and John Paul II (2-7) go head to head this Friday at 7:00 PM. With the two teams stumbling in off of losses, both Bishop Dunne and John Paul II will be hungry for the win.
Bishop Dunne finished a few points shy of Liberty Christian last week, taking a 33 - 26 hit to the loss column. The defeat came about despite a quality game from freshman Simeon Evans, who threw for 172 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, the MaxPreps national rankings speculated that John Paul II might be blown out last week, and the rankings were right on the money. It was outplayed 65 - 7 in its contest against Prestonwood Christian last week. A sore spot for John Paul II was the persistent Prestonwood Christian defense that pierced the offensive line for five sacks.
The last time they met, Bishop Dunne really took it to John Paul II, winning 84 - 6. Their game was over by halftime, with Bishop Dunne up 63 - 6. The rematch might be a little tougher for it since the team will be on John Paul II's home field this time. We'll soon find out whether that makes a difference or not.
