National Guard and Hurricane Harvey

The National Guard has deployed soldiers to the Houston, Texas area to help with relief aide desperately needed from Hurricane Harvey's destruction.

Over 5,000 people have been rescued by the National Guard and they are continuing to activate more Guard units and stay on the ground supporting the local communities, day and night.

As the waters were still rising, over 300 pets and animals were also saved during the Houston flood.
