Curtis Beach Shines at Nationals
Curtis Beach, a recent graduate of Albuquerque Academy (N.M.) set his third national decathlon record in the past three months by winning the junior division with 7,599 points at the USA Track & Field Junior National Championships in Eugene, Ore. His blazing time of 4:07.85 in the 1,500-meter run was a national high school and world junior best for the decathlon. MaxPreps writer Dave Krider has more national news in the Weekend Notes.
