MaxPreps uses our Freeman computer program to determine an individual player’s opponent strength of schedule. "Schedule Strength" is simply an average of the ratings of the teams that school has played. We do not poll coaches, sportswriters, or fans. Nor does our staff make any judgments on the merits of any individual team. Once strength of schedule has been determined, we use three specific stat categories to create the player’s rating.
For football, the player ratings allows a user to sort players in these specific categories-passing leaders, rushing leaders, receiving leaders, scoring leaders, total offense leaders, tackle leaders, sack leaders, and interception leaders.
-
A player must have stats in the MaxPreps Database and meet the minimum requirements to receive a rating.
-
A player will need to fall within the top 500 in order to be listed in the national or state leaders.
