Pseudo Schools

MaxPreps uses a short list of pseudo schools to handle rare scenarios where a coach isn't able to enter valid school information. Below is the full list of pseudo schools and their purpose.

  • Varsity Opponent

    When a team is playing a varsity team that is currently not covered by MaxPreps, they can schedule the game vs. "varsity opponent."

  • Non-Varisty Opponent

    When a team at any level is playing a non varsity level team, they can schedule the game vs. "non-varsity opponent."

  • Non-JV Opponent

    When a JV team is playing a team that is not at the JV level, they can schedule a game vs. "non-JV opponent."

  • Non-Freshman Opponent

    When a freshman team is playing a team that is not at the freshman level, they can schedule a game vs. "non-freshman opponent."

  • Non-Varsity Tournament Opponent

    When a team is playing a lower level team in a tournament that is currently not covered by MaxPreps, they can schedule the game vs. "non-varsity tournament opponent."

  • Tournament Team

    When a team is playing a varsity team in a tournament that is currently not covered by MaxPreps, they can schedule the game vs. "tournament team."
    When a tournament game may count towards one teams schedule and not the others, they can schedule the game vs. "tournament team."
    When a lower level team plays up or down, they can schedule the game vs. "tournament team."

  • Tournament Opponent

    When a team is playing a varsity team in a tournament that is currently not covered by MaxPreps, they can schedule the game vs. "tournament opponent." When a tournament game may count towards one teams schedule and not the others, they can schedule the game vs. "tournament opponent." When a lower level team plays up or down, they can schedule the game vs. "tournament opponent."
