In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Nikiski Bulldogs volleyball team scored a close 1-0 triumph over the Valdez Buccaneers.

The Bulldogs (25-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Mt. Edgecumbe (Sitka, AK). The Braves come into the non-league challenge with a 7-16 record. In their last challenge, Mt. Edgecumbe was nudged by Sitka (Sitka, AK), 1-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Buccaneers play the Cordova Wolverines (Cordova, AK) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, October 11. Valdez will attempt to upgrade on its 24-5 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 1-0 non-league loss to Glennallen (Glennallen, AK).
