Luke has worked hard most of the off-season, and it shows! He's earned his way into a deep lineup, and today helped his team to a 6-3 win by providing a point from singles and one from doubles. In singles, Luke posted a 6-0 6-0 win, and then paired with freshman James Miller to win #3 doubles 8-1.
Sophomore Luke Edmondson has put in a lot of hours on court in the past year. One motivation was improving varsity playing time, given that he was only sparingly used in the Rams lineup during his freshman year. On one of his few opportunities to play in the lineup last year, Luke lost soundly to Washington. Fast forward to today, when Luke is a solid contributor in the 2019 Rams lineup, and he is matched up with the exact same opponent for Washington. Luke's dedication to off-season improvement showed itself in the compared results, as he won 6-0, 6-1. Then in doubles, Luke paired with Drake Robart to cruise to an easy 8-1 win. This is a great lesson on the value of off-season work. Luke had a great turnaround day - and earns Player of the Match honors.
