The Gilroy Mustangs baseball team scored 17 runs and held the host Evergreen Valley Cougars to 14 in the Mustangs league win on Friday.

The Mustangs now hold a 14-8 record. They take the field next when they host Ann Sobrato for a Santa Teresa test on Monday, May 11. Gilroy will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 9-5 league win over Prospect (Saratoga, CA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 16-8.

With the defeat, Evergreen Valley drops to 11-13 on the year. The Cougars travel to Prospect (Saratoga, CA) to play the Panthers in a Santa Teresa test on Monday, May 11. The Panthers go into the test with a record of 9-16. Prospect lost 9-5 in their recent league test against Ann Sobrato (Morgan Hill, CA)
