The Basalt Longhorns (Basalt, CO) softball routed the visiting Aspen Skiers (Aspen, CO), 18-2 in Thursday's league test.

Next, the Longhorns meet the Rifle Bears (Rifle, CO) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, October 7. Basalt will attempt to advance on its 5-15 season record. The Bears go into the test with a 16-4 record after their 16-15 non-league win over Delta (Delta, CO).

The Skiers (1-12) will now prepare for their test against Gunnison (Gunnison, CO). The Cowboys come into the 3A Western Slope outing with a 8-11 record. In their last outing, Gunnison was routed by Meeker (Meeker, CO), 11-8, in a league outing.
