The Douglas County Huskies overwhelmed the host Highlands Ranch Falcons softball squad by a count of 9-3 in Monday's league challenge.

Next, the Huskies meet the ThunderRidge Grizzlies (Highlands Ranch, CO) in a 5A/4A Continental challenge, on Wednesday, October 2. Douglas County will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Grizzlies go into the challenge with a 6-11 record after their 10-2 league loss to Chaparral (Parker, CO).

The Falcons (6-13) will now prepare for their challenge against Heritage (Littleton, CO). The Eagles go into the 5A/4A Continental challenge with a 8-11 record. In their last challenge, Heritage held off Regis Jesuit (Aurora, CO), 15-0, in a league challenge.
