Iowa High School Basketball - Montezuma fells Prairie City-Monroe
January 4, 2024: Monroe, IA 50170 Montezuma Braves (Montezuma, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Prairie City-Monroe Mustangs (Monroe, IA), 48-39 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Montezuma upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Braves host Belle Plaine (Belle Plaine, IA) to play the Plainsmen in a South Iowa Cedar bout on Friday, January 5. The Plainsmen go into the bout with a record of 0-9.
Next up, the Mustangs confront the Nevada Cubs (Nevada, IA) in a Heart of Iowa challenge, on Friday, January 5. Prairie City-Monroe will attempt to improve on its 7-4 season record. The Cubs come into the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 56-36 non-league win over Webster City (Webster City, IA).
