January 8, 2025: Sterling, IL 61081 Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad run past the visiting Alleman Pioneers (Rock Island, IL), 48-32 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Newman Central Catholic advances its record to 1-0 on the year. The Comets host Kewanee (Kewanee, IL) to meet the Boilermakers in a match on Friday, January 10. The Boilermakers enter the match with a record of 0-0.
The Pioneers now own a 8-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Quincy for a match on Friday, January 10.
