The Butternut Midgets basketball squad scored 69 points and restricted the visiting Bayfield Trollers to 31 in the Midgets league win on Thursday.

Next, the Midgets clash with the Mellen Granite Diggers (Mellen, WI) in a non-league outing, on Friday, January 9. Butternut will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Granite Diggers come into the outing with a 3-7 record after their 55-54 league loss to Bayfield (Bayfield, WI).

The Trollers (4-7) will now prepare for their bout against Oneida Nation (Oneida, WI). The Thunderhawks go into the non-league bout with a 2-6 record. In their last bout, Oneida Nation was ripped by Gillett (Gillett, WI), 52-27, in a league bout.
